flash and youtube = crash
I saw a thread here awhile ago about constant crashing when accessing videos on youtube do to a Flash bug. I browse on a Mac. And, I can hardly watch any flash based presentations because of this bug. Anyone have a link to that thread or have a solution? Thanks a bunch.

You can backrev Flash and then ignore its subsequent pleas to update. For me, the symptom was unintelligible chopped-up audio. Rolling back to version 10 solved the issue. You can get it here.

Thanks guys. I have flash Plug-in version 10.3.183.23 is installed on a Mac (OS X 10.5.8 ). This is the version recommended by Adobe to avoid the security breach. If I go back, I would be open to attack or whatever the term is. My symptoms are that Safari crashes when I try to watch a youtube video. After the crash it takes a long time for Safari to get working again. PITA Thanks

Just wondering if this couldn't be a combination of factor, instead of just Flash. As I had mentioned in that other thread, I usually avoid updating Flash most of the time (unless there's a security issue), so I'm still on 11.1.102.62 (same as I mentioned in that thread). My wife's running the latest version. Both of us are running Safari (latest version) - on OS X 10.6.8 though. No issues whatsoever. I know this doesn't really help, but, anyway... Good luck fixing the issue.

Rain, I think the change in flash version numbers occurs right at the 10.6 number. So, I'm just under it at 10.5.8. I still don't know what catlike animal my OS is either:) I just use it and it works. till now.

I was accused of Flashing on Youtube once, but there was no clear evidence that it was me.

Still on Snow Leopard here even over a year after Lion came out and still no plan to upgrade to Lion or the more recent Mountain Lion. I guess I'll upgrade the OS when I buy the next comp. Plus, that'll leave the good folks at Cakewalk some time to work out the installers and fix the issues w/ their soft synths on Lion. ;)

Thanks Rain. Where does it say I'm using Leopard? I looked in the 'apple/about this mac/software' and all I see is, Mac OS X 10.5.8 (9L31a). Thanks Rain.

I don't think you'll see it on the actual computer - at least, I never saw it anywhere - except on the install disc. It's usually one big cat for each new major upgrade. 10.0 - Cheetah .1 Puma .2 Jaguar .3 Panther .4 Tiger .5 Leopard .6 Snow Leopard .7 Lion .8 Mountain Lion. Yeah, I love big cats. :P

Can you try the HTML5 versions? I know in the settings you can select to view YouTube videos in HTML5 browsers. I have noticed they run better than flash does in Chrome.
