Sonar X2 Free Upgrade from X1 Offer Question...

I am very seriously considering going for the free upgrade offer.  I looked at the chart for upgrade on the cakewalk page.  It says that either Sonar X1 Production or Sonar X1 Producer will upgrade to Sonar X2 for free.

Now, since I am not a Sonar X1 owner, I am considering purchasing Producer or Production Suite.  The difference is about $100.  So, if both products upgrade to the same X2 Producer, is there any advantage of purchasing the more expensive X1 Production Suite?  I mean aside from the z3ta, etc... addons...  I am really only interested in the actual DAW software and not extra 3rd part  stuff.

I am very interested in the stuff the "expanded" version carries like the extra prochannel functionality and modules.  The "expanded" is built into X1 Production Suite.  So, really my question is that if I get X1 Producer(no expanded included) and wait for the free upgrade to X2 Producer, would it be the same thing?  Are all the X1 "expanded" prochannel features now built into the X2 Producer?  I could wait for X2 to come out and not bother buying the more expensive X1 Production Suite just to benefit from the "Expanded" features that will be covered in X2 anyway.

As a side note, I love the prochannel features and concept.  It can simplify all the dragging and dropping of core plugins used often for buses.  But, with FX chains and saved presets that can be called in 1 shot into the inserts, does it really offer any advantages?  Would it be so different to just use them as channel inserts as appose to in a prochannel?  Are they more efficient on CPU since they are native in Sonar?

thanks in advance for the help.

Aside from the addons, there is no reason at this time to buy the Production Suite. X2 will be out very soon and the features in X1 Expanded are part of X2. Whether the ProChannel is useful to you or not depends on what you already own. There are some nice modules in it.

Here's what you need to consider...

If you upgrade to Producer, you don't get expanded....that's another $49,
nor do you get any additional modules...which are $49 to $79 each, or buy
    the pack at $179.

If you buy Production Suite you get Expanded, the PC4K Expander/Gate, Zeta 2.1,
which is a great synth, AND they give you a FREE PC4K Compressor.

If you were buying those separately that would be about $250 going from Producer
to Production Suite, minus Zeta would be about $200.

While X2 will have Expanded, it won't come with the PC4K Expander/Gate or the PC4K Compressor, which is $98 in Modules alone, and you save the $99 for the upgrade price.

If you just upgrade your still going to pay more overall...so
it depends on what you want, and how much your willing to pay for it.

Figure out what you would like to have and compare costs both ways...then
go the cheaper route...that's my philosophy..
