Do you think Waves Native Power Pack is worth buying?

I'm demoing it, and I am quite impressed...  They are old...  But they are so good, and way cheap for so many plugins...

What do you think?   I do not own any Waves, is this a good way to get started?  Or am I chasing after, "antique software?"

Which..  imo, "antique software," is not a bad idea..  just think about how many folk will not use, "older stuff."  but really..  How much has writing a sine wave in C++  changed over the last 20 years?   How much has writing a low pass filter?

too many lasers...

I find that the stock Sonar / ProChannel fx will nearly always do everything the basic Waves plugins do.  If you're still salivating over Waves, I'd wait until the bundle you want goes on sale.  They regularly have them for half off, then figure the normal discount Waves Universe or Audio Deluxe will give you ... you'll save a lot of cash.

Right now I'm eagerly waiting for X2 so I can compare the console emus to Waves NLS, which is currently on sale.

NPP was the first set of plugs that I bought from Wave....AND what got me to my Gold upgrade for $97!!!

They are VERY good plugs....and 64 bit in version 9....so kind of a new breath for the the old plugs...

    Get 'em while they're hot!!!

BTW, unless you're a purist who insists on always doing things the hard way, you'd do well to check out the Waves CLA Signature bundle, available now at AD for $151.20 -- a very good deal.  Nothing else I've tried gives you good sounds so easily and quickly.  Not nearly as tweakable as "regular" gear, but if you're in a hurry to get things done (and don't mind the "CLA Sound"), those plugs are fantastic.

I do everything from the ground up in my music.  I do not consider myself, "a purist."  However, I do it all from the ground up..  I make my own kick drums, shape my own snares, build my own synthesizer sounds, and create my own eq, delay, and reverb settings..   :-)
got nothing better to do...  lol..  no deadlines to make, and I know how to do all this stuff anyways...  :-)

I tried the signiture collections but didnt like them except for a couple of the massarati plugs like the vocal effect.  The CLA stuff seemed really over processed to me.  Just my opinion.
