Getting Sonar to release keyboard to vsts?
Having a problem with Amplitude 3, I can't write any patch names in the vst as any letter that's bound to something in sonar is blocked, kinda hard to come up with good patch names like this Could have sworn there was some option for this but I can't remember it.

Nobody knows? I found the vst property page in the plugin window but there's not option to give keystrokes to plugin. Kinda useless to name patches something unintelligible like "Hdlchrsu" because only a few letters works. EDIT: It said in the release notes that "The give keystrokes to plugin" button missing was fixed, but there's no button in the vst property page.

On the plugin UI windows, upper right corner, there is a keyboard-looking icon. Click it.

Yes, it's there, but it doesn't seem to work with all plugins - it seems to depend on how the save dialog is implemented - some vsts work fine, others not so much. it's kind of a drag...

Interesting. Sounded like the OP was looking for where the control was. If by Amplitude 3, they meant AmpliTube 3, the IK amp plugin, the 'save as' dialog for that one works fine for me with a similar configuration, X1d, Win7 x64, AmpliTube 3.7 I would have guessed that bridged plugins had a problem, but AmpliTube has x32 and x64 versions.

Hmm I'm on producer expanded and the only thing in the plugin window I have looking like a keyboard icon says "step sequencer" I have at the top of plugin windows: Presets (No preset) (<)(>) (x) (VST) .......... (aL) [Step sequencer icon] (R)(W)(S) That's it. Yeah I mean Amplitube 3, doesnt work at all here. I click "save as" in Amplitube get the dialog with "save with name" text box, I try to type "test" as an example, only I have S bound so something in Sonar so that action gets executed and the letter S is discarded. If I try to enter a number like "test1" i get "tet" and one of my screensets gets activated instead etc..

Curious. I'm also running Producer Expanded, X1d. If I drop AmpliTube onto an audio track, the plugin window on the upper right has an Act icon, S,R,W, and the 'Give all keystrokes' icon. But I don't have to turn that on for the 'save as' dialog to work. 'test' works for me. I'm using the default keybindings, where A is bound, and 'aaaAAA' works as a patch name.

I have the "Give All Keystrokes to Plugin" appears ok in the VST GUIs, but it doesn't work for all plugins. A workaround is to type the new name into notepad, then copy and paste from notepad. Bit of a pain, but it works. Cheers - Cliff

Yeah I've tried the copy paste from notepad, that doesn't work either, control+v or shift+insert standard paste shortcuts doesn't do anything in the AmpliTube save dialog textboxes.
