Groups are behaving a little different in X2 for me

So, X2 installed, x64, I open a X1 project... it has Mute and Solo buttons on various mixes grouped so if you click Solo, mute goes off and if you turn off solo, mute goes on. So this still works, but it used to be that if you click the Mute button, it would have the same impact... inverse both mute and solo buttons together. Now, when I click the mute button in the group, nothing happens.

It's not just the groups. I just had a terrible experience trying to record my daughter singing using layers. We got so many drop-outs we had to return to x1 (a backup).

So there were lots of issues in X2 with this particular project. The project has 6 Dim Pros and a few vocal tracks so far. The song is short (Less than 3 minutes).

    It's working fine in X1.

In X2, there were issues with the groups. Then issues with soloing. I was unable to mute various tracks at different times... My kid (age 9) asked me to drop the volume on various tracks to be more back ground. I tried but I was fully unable to adjust the volume. Muting clips didn't help. I didn't want to delete the tracks all together. I hit 5 to jump to Console view and Crashed. I sent the Crash report, restarted and kept trying. I spent fully 1/2 an hour trying to do it.

I'm wondering if part of the problem might be starting with an X1 project and opening it in X2. Perhaps this has caused issues.

Additionally, I noticed that while I have the preference set to record at 24 bit and render at 32, all the vocal tracks showed as 32 bit when I checked the associated Audio Files. Perhaps this was causing some of the load and drop outs?

I think I'll try creating a whole new project in X2 and importing the various tracks from the failing project and see how that helps.

Things are getting better after importing things into a project created using X2.

The Clip Groups can now only be added to the Mute and Solo buttons on a track from the Inspector pane. On the Inspector Pane they work as advertised. If you click them On the folder in the track lane, they work as advertised. If you click the solo button on the auto track zoom area (not sure a better way to call it) it works. If you click the mute button at this level, the two do not toggle.

I'm not able to get meter peak markers to work.

I went to options > meter options > and set them, but they aren't showing up for me.

    Are they working for you?

Peak markers are working well here.  Just a thought, but please double check that you've enable Track Peak Markers, rather than Bus Peak Markers.

I think the peak message just shows up in the track.... I am not seeing the bar in the meter itself.

It kinda puzzles me. There used to be a line in the meters a long time ago right? ...

On another note, is there a way to multi select all the track takes (lanes or whatever) and switch them all to clip pan at the same time? Or back to clip? for editing multiple at once? I think it works with quick groups with tracks, but it doesn't seem to be working for lanes. Hold down ctrl after making the quick group, right?

    I have an interesting case...

    Problem:
I kept having rough sounds in the first seconds of the first measure of my project.

    Test:
I moved the whole project to start on measure 2 and bounced the whole project to a track.

    Result:
At the very beginning of measure 1 where there should be silence is a tail from the last time I hit the stop button.

Tails from previous stops shouldn't go on bounced tracks, should they? Is this a sound card thing?

I've had problems with grouped mutes and solos since at least April '11. When grouping a midi track and a synth pair of tracks, the mutes and solos don't switch as they should. Converting the synth pair to a simple instrument track causes slightly different failures. Reported it back then, received word it was sent to development. Still not fixed.

I have just lost the ability to export a project because I wasn't able to turn off a mute. Even using the global buttons I can't turn off the mute.

I have to stop complaining. I managed to recover my project using a backup. Staying away from groups on the solo buttons, I am avoiding the bug that is causing me the blues.

Maybe I should mention that these are not midi tracks. The problem is occurring on regular audio tracks. It makes me nervous to use the grouping feature at all since it can render a project un-functional and you could end up importing all objects into a fresh project.
