Loving X2

FWIW - I consider myself and "advanced hobbyist" coming back to SONAR after several years using LOGIC (with too much money sunk in WAVES plugs etc.).

I've imported raw track files from several projects and have been mixing them in X1, now X2 and I'm really pleased. The ProChannel stuff and console emulator are fantastic! I love the look, the UI, the workflow, the sound. Very very pleased. No major issues yet either.

Just thought I'd share a positive experience. As you were.

Good to hear [or read, I guess]. Haven't installed mine yet. Just about to.

I am extremely happy with X2! I had a mix to finish last night for a client, so I just opened it all up in X2, put the N Type Console Emulator on every channel and master bus, added some final EQ tweaks and spit it out. I was very happy with it.

I opened up some other client mixes that are much earlier in the mixing process and mesed around with Automation. I was at home instead of the studio so I just had my Presonus Fader Port as a control surface.

I used the different modes while drawing automation with the Fader Port. Fantastic! I love the Latch Mode for drawing Pan automation. Since the pan control on the Fader Port is not touch sensitive, the Latch Mode fixes the problem of the automation jumping around when overwriting previous automation.

I was totally digging the verticle snap when editing envelopes with the mouse as well.

That fact that writing automation now obeys punch-in points is incredible. Just select your punch-in points, create a loop with some pre-roll, and draw automation in the fly for your specific spot until you nail it.

That Breverb is sounding pretty damn good too.

I love the fact that I can turn the metronome on and off while th eproject is playing. Seems like no big deal, but I will never live without that again.

I am utterly convined that I own the greatest DAW (for my needs and workflow) on the planet. THANK YOU CAKEWALK!

I have done my first VOCAL recording session today. Track lanes worked as charm. The Audio engine no glitch, Stable as rock.

That's good to hear.   I have yet to install X2 due to time constraints, so reading all this positive feedback is driving me nuts.

Some small bugs but I think X2 are more stable then X1 Expanded last update and that release was very stable. You will love the new audio engine. You can do whatever you like without interference during playback, insert VST .. change screeensets..You can run also in much more low latency what you ever could with X1. Console emulation is just great too. The Pro Channel EQ numbers are bigger. New snapping tools very smart and easy to work with. New Track lanes, so easy to build, comping a perfect vocal take. That are still so much more to discover..
