VST menu problem

I would appreciate any help.

I've installed Sonar X2, rescanned my plug-ins, and set up a custom menu. (I got the 'too many plug-ins' warning)
Most of my plug-ins show in the manager after the rescan.

BUT... when I go to create a track, a large portion of the instrument plug-ins that were in the manager don't show on the menu. This includes several cakewalk plugs.

Here's a couple:
- Dimension
- Rapture
- Analog Factory (Although several of the other Arturia plugs are availible)
- Omnisphere

I'm running Windows 7 x64, but some 32 bit plug-ins show, others don't. Some 64 bit plug-ins show, others don't.

I tried the missing plug-ins in a different DAW, and they work fine. I created a new menu, but the same items are missing. I rescanned the plug-ins, still no good.

Any ideas?

Do you see an arrow to click at the bottom of the menu? hoe many plugins do you have? Do you really need that many?

Try putting yourt effects in different folders, for example:
    Compressoirs
    EQ
    Reverbs
    Chorus
    Flangers
    Stereo Imaging
    Delays
    and so on

    > Do you see an arrow to click at the bottom of the menu? - Nope.

    > Try putting yourt effects in different folders - I actually broke instruments and effects out into separate menus (percussion, synths, emulators, etc.)  with sub-menus. In some cases a sub-folder would only have 2 or 3 items, and they would still be missing.

    > hoe many plugins do you have? Do you really need that many? - Quite a few, and yes. I do various types of productions. If I was just doing a single genre for myself maybe I wouldn't need as many, but that isn't the case. Either way, I don't think that IS the issue, nor should it be. Other DAWs do not have this issue, so I can't imagine Sonar does. If it does, this is a problem. This is probably, however, something stupid that I have done or overlooked.

I am getting the "too many plug-ins" message in X2 as well.  Whivch is bizarre as I am using the same exact layout for X1 and it's fine.

My understanding is that creating sub-menus and organizing the plug-ins into groups fixes that issue. This video for Sonar 8.5 is still fairly applicable.

Indeed and thats how I got it to work flawlessly (and error message-free :) ) with X1.

The same layout causes X2 to complain.

    UPDATE:
So, among the pay VSTs - I also have a ton of freeware VSTs that I have just to maintain compatibility with other artists I work with frequently. I figured this problem would eventually get fixed, so I went about renaming all the scanned plug-in names with ones that are more reasonable to work with.

I decided to exclude any of the vsts I don't use, along with any 32 bit vsts where there is a 64 bit equivilent. This reduced the list significantly... low and behold, on the next boot up everything was showing. Apparently if the PlugIns>Instruments list goes beyond 255, then any items that are truncated on the default list are hidden on all other menus as well.

You can change the list that appears on PlugIns>Instruments list by choosing a new menu from the down arrow on the tab.

Here's a screenshot that may make sense of my rambling.
