X2: New Icon behavior

I know the new track icon transparency was supposed to be a good thing for us but I took a lot of time to create colored text icons that allowed me to workaround the lack of SONAR color customization with the use of colors in my icons.  Now, the black ground disappears and the contrast between what's left and the light gray track is minimized.  It's hard to read.  

Can this new feature be turned off or is there a way to change my icon backgrounds so that they won't be transparent (though this will be tedious)?
