Curious about X2's handling of very large projects compared with X1

Hi all,

I'm excited about the improvements in X2, but I have to wonder if some of them may be adding subtle background processes that can have a cumulative negative effect for users working with very large projects. I use a huge orchestral template with about 300 tracks and 50 soft synth inserts. It doesn't bring my computer to its knees but it gets pretty close. I am concerned that if I upgrade, some of the enhancements may push it over the edge -  that it won't open, the GUI will be sluggish, etc.

Can anyone comment on their experiences with opening very large projects or templates from X1 and seeing how performance compares when they are opened in X2? Especially with processes that may have already nearly choked the computer like copying and pasting huge chunks of data, opening 50 MIDI tracks in PRV at once, etc.

Thanks!
