First mix in X2 completed, all went well :-)

Hi folks,

I just completed my first mix using X2, and I'm pleased to say it all went quite well.

The project was started in X1 a while back, and since X2 turned up I though why not give it a go !.

Once I got used to the changes in X2, I really think it sped the mixing process up quite a bit ... a LOT !.

Automation lanes are a giant leap forward, and once you're used to the smart tool changes it really is a lot better to work with than X1.

I posted it over in the songs forum if you want to check it out.

I did a ton of automation editing in X2, and since updating my video driver to the latest nvidia one (just released), the display is smoother, and not a single crash yet.

I did have a crash very early on just after installing X2, while auditioning loops and shots in the media browser, and I was giving it a total hammering. I've tried the same after my vid driver update, but haven't had any crashes so far.

Cheers - Cliff

I installed X2 PE yesterday.  I did a complete reinstall of Windows 7 and then only the X2 (I didn't install X1 first).  I opened an X1 project and did some work on it as I needed to remix it.  I like the new automation lanes feature.  I remixed it using Ozone 5 and all went well.

I didn't really get into X2, so I can't say about a lot of the new features, yet.

I did have a problem starting X2, one time.  I initially installed it and after installing everything, including Ozone 5 and Melodyne it started without a problem.  The next time I started it, it crashed on startup with a garbled error message.  I started it again and no problem (and no problem after that).

Hi Cliff, yeah, I agree, and I'd go so far to say that they are probably the most important addition, for me anyway.
