Re:Dimension Pro in X2 install problems

Ok I have solved my Dimension Pro instal problems for X2 but now the samples do not work.  Says "Multisamples missing".  The Digital Sound Strings work but non of the others.

They all seem to be the right place which for me is E:Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\Multisamples

There there are :18 Folders From 00 - Wavetables through 34 - Twisted Textures to finally Pro Sounds.

I am not sure if these are the Dim Pro Multisamples..maybe?

The Digital Sound Factory Symphonic Strings HD is there.

In the registry there is a line E:Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro       although it doesn't say \Multisamples   not sure if it should?

Any help appreciated.

The registry entries should not include the final "Multisamples" in the value.  DimPro will append the name "Multisamples" to the registry value itself.  The actual registry key path used depends upon the version of Dimension Pro and whether it is 32bit or 64bit.

Ok so it looks right?  So why can't I use any of the Samples?

I have not load either the 32 Bit Sonar X2 or anything 32 bit.  May that help?

Just all the presets just say No Multisample found except the HD strings.

Should I mess with the scanning of the vst folders or any other suggestions.

    Change

    E:Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro

    to

    E:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro

in the registry.  The difference is that the former is missing the backslash character after the drive letter reference in the path.

    That was my mistake.

It is set at E:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro

I installed 32 bit but still nothing

So how many different versions of Dimension Pro do you find installed on the machine?  You can find out by using Windows file system searches against "dimension*.*" for each hard drive.

Next, how many different "Multisample" folders do you find installed on the machine?  Again, you can find out by using Windows file system searches but against "multisampes" for each hard drive.

Different versions of Dimension Pro (1.2 vs 1.5 vs 32bit vs 64bit, etc.) use different registry keys and possibly different file system paths.  If there are multiple versions installed then you could be trying to use one version but the installer loaded the files into a Multisample folder for a different version.  And the registry entries you're using to confirm might not be for the version that is being run in SONAR.

If there are multiple versions and multiple Multisample paths then this could explain the problem.  Maybe getting rid of all of them then re-installing only what you want would be an easy way to remedy the problem.
