I LOVE ProChannel FX Chains!!

I just had to come out of my X2-bubble for 2secs and say
I love ProChannel FX Chains!!!!

Here are a few ones I've made so far..
I don't like that they don't allow changing the knob-, button- and fader-graphics though.. Really hope they'll fix this later on.

(I never used FX Chains before it was introduced into PC and will never use it outside pro channel.. That's why I don't care that the backgrounds will look like crap in an ordinary FX Chain) ;P

I Agree, they make workflow much better and screen cluter much less.

Here are a few I have been playing around with.

Pretty cool.  We won't likely be allowing custom knobs/faders in the ProChannel soon, as they need to be shared between FX Chains 2.0 and ProChannel FX Chains - each with different dimensions and spacing.

@Bill - will you be offering some customization options for us to choose from? I would like to easily change the appearance to some of the chains. fx chains are very cool!

Not sure I understand the question.  You can change the background right now, as the folks above have demonstrated.

Thanks Bill - I get that. What I mean is something in the order of different theme components included with the stock x2 install for fxchains. I think the other examples are from people doing some graphic work up front and then loading that work into a fxchain.

I know I can do this - I've even used images from family photos just goofing around. Which is kind of cool.

I think for some of us (me) - I would like see a few directories in Cakewalk Contents folder that included background panels, knobs and buttons. I found myself looking for these ghost folders with both x1 and x2.

I really just like to quickly personalize a few chains with you guys at cake doing all the up front work while I sit around and drink tea.  :)

Well, I'm willing to share my little stash: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/4795919/FXChainBGs.zip

I made a lot of these, and I'm no graphic designer...  But perhaps you'll find them useful.  Maybe in the future we'll get some really cool ones made and install a nice collection into the content folder for you guys.

Thanks for sharing these, Bill!  Might be cool if Cakewalk (or someone else) could set up a page for people to submit/share their BGs.  It could include track icons as well.  I've made a ton of track icons over the years that I'd be willing to share.

Agreed.  I think I actually saw some track icons tossed around on the forums over the weekend.  I'll talk with a few folks internally and see what they think about making a community space available for stuff like this.

Maybe this is how I can make the Breverb ledgable. Turn it into a fx chain?

Notation, the original DAW. Everything else is just rote. We are who we are and no more than another. Humans, you people are crazy.

I'm being totally thick here.

How do you set the colours for the background?

I right click to select Customize UI, what then?

Here are some of the backgrounds that I used for mine above.

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/91965206/FX%20Chain%20Graphics.rar

I used a photoeditor to change the colours and textures of the existing panels.

Bristol_Jonesy you click on the ... next to the background image then select a new background. Mine where all under cakewalk content in X1 fx graphics.

I also changed the preset background image to give the different titles.

Bill I agree it would be great to have a place to share this stuff!

This really is a fantastically useful feature. I've just been using it in the FX bin style view, and that's great too.

Actually, looking closer...  This is a way to submit FX Chain presets.  Not the backgrounds.  I'll keep you posted on maybe a new one, just for background images.
