Dimension Pro Multisamples
I am copying this from Instrument thread to not many responses there. I have read every link on Dimension and cannot solve this! Going mad! No preset working other that HD strings. ORIGINAL: Ok I have solved my Dimension Pro instal problems for X2 but now the samples do not work. Says "Multisamples missing". The Digital Sound Strings work but non of the others. They all seem to be the right place which for me is E:Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\Multisamples There there are :18 Folders From 00 - Wavetables through 34 - Twisted Textures to finally Pro Sounds. I am not sure if these are the Dim Pro Multisamples..maybe? The Digital Sound Factory Symphonic Strings HD is there. In the registry there is a line E:Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro All seems right but nothing but Multisample not found.

You've written "E:Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro" which is missing a backslash after the drive letter. Try editing the registry and include the backslash like this E:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro

Yeah that was my mistake here. The registry entry is correct. I cannot even trial X2 with Dim Pro work! Arghhhh. Help please.

So basically under my presets: All do not work including Expansion Packs 1 - 3. All Multisample not found. But new Digital Sound Factory Symphonic strings HD does. How can I see where the multisamples are loaded? As then could just move everything to where the HD strings are?

Iknow I keep replying to my own messages! When I look under: E:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\Programs all the presets are there.... When I look under: E:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\Multisamples many of the multisamples are missing. E.g. Under Garritan Pocket Orchestra I only see a folder Woodwinds with only Oboe Solo.sfz in it!

I thought I'd cracked it. I deleted all instances of Dim Pro via control panel and everything and did a reinstall but this time to my C drive rather than my programs drive. I thought it worked but now some multisamples do from the dim pro program browser others are missing. It is about 80% working so gonna stop here.

Have a read of this. I suspect you'll only get it to work after the entries in your Registry have been hacked tweaked.

Did you look on the C: drive? I think either Rapture or Dimension Pro installed some stuff there from the Welcome Kit, but I'm not sure , that was some time ago. Look at C:\Multisamples and see if they are there. Or maybe a C:\Cakewalk Content folder. Someone seemed to hard-code a path in one of the installers.

Ok well now most programs work but many say Multisamples missing. When I look at my Multisamples folder it does seem there are many missing. How best to try a reinstall to get the lot back in?

re-run the installer(s) as the administrator. If necessary (ex. Rapture) use the custom install option. In the case of libs from DSF installers, you may have to manually move the files into the proper locations.

Done it! I re-run and ignored when it said Multisamples already installed. I think the samples did not load probably the first time. Now all there. It was the re-installing which did it and just accepting that the C drive is the best place for them. Now I can explore X2....Yay!
