Problem with Aim Assist and "Center View on Now Time"

I LOVE SONAR X2. I just ran accross a couple little things that I would like ironed out. I made a short video to demonstrate. If anyone else these problems, please let me know or confirm that you see the same thing.

I have only installed X2 on my laptop for now. It is an Intel i5, Windows 7 64.

Thanks. X2 is excellent indeed.

Confirmed on your second issue in the video. However, I CAN get my aim assist line to stay in the time line by actually making that little weird thing with the position happen. Check it out.

Thanks Danny. It helps to know that I am not crazy. I use that "Center View on Now Time" constantly. I was so used to hitting the "N" key in X1. I can live with using a different key since the Bakers changed that to toggle the Snap Grid. I just assigned a different key.

But man, it just feels weird when it mis-aligns. I hope that if others experience the same issue that it can be fixed soon.

I ran across a few other issues today as well. I will give more details on those later. It has to do with losing functionality with the Presonus FaderPort, and drawing automation within punch-points while looping. This may be a FaderPort issue though. I will look into it soon.

I really appreciate that you took the time to confirm that. Thank you.

Haha no problem brother...you ain't crazy. :) There are definitely a few little quirks for sure....I've found some myself. But thankfully, no show stoppers so far. This is definitely leaps and bounds better than the first release of X1 in my opinion. I'm really loving that auto track zoom as well as the new fx chain capabilities in PC.

Funny story real fast....I have a client that asks me to run Reaper when I do his sessions so he can take them back and mess with them on his system for the heck of it. I really dig some of the stuff Reaper can do as well as the new mixing console view I snagged from one of their builders...man, it's so sick looking, I just sit here staring at it sometimes wishing we had that in Sonar. LOL!

But my point in mentioning that.....in Reaper, without a track template, I'm manually adding all sorts of plugs all the time. It made me realize just how much I appreciate ProChannel having everything waiting for me with quality effects at a glance. :) Makes me happy to be a Sonar user even though The Reap is an excellent alternative in many ways.

nice video charles.its just so much easier to explain things with video,i think danny has been one himself to show us how much easier it really is.
i cant say i can repro any of these things but funny you mention the snap on/off shortcut key being N and not F12 anymore, that was a head scrather for me but you know, sonar x1 actualy changed it to F12,before that in previous versions of sonar(8.5 and earlier)its always been the N key, they only changed that in X1.
so theyve gone back to what is was to begin with.
for me thats becoming much easier.
its funny how moving your finger 6 inches on a keyboard can slow you down on your flow.it does...lol.
everything seems so compact and where it should now with the snap module.
to me this is one of the better improvments cakewalk made.
i mean how many times have we had to stop and eith turn snap off or change the value from 1.1 to 1/16.
    millions in my life  :)

i really like the fact that you can have that extra setting on the snap value for that 1/8...or that 1/16 that we use most.

anyway, nice to see other peoples points of view, the more people, the more things we can learn.
    good luck.

Thanks Charlie. I have no problem with the snap hot key, I already bound a new key for using "Center View on Now Time".

My biggest issue is that when I use "Center View on Now Time," the Now Time becomes mis-aligned with the play back header, and because of this behavior, my view is not centering on the Now Time.

My second issue is that my Aim Assist line disappears from view when my mouse cursor is hovers above the Time Line (unless I use the new zoom feature). But even then, the Aim Assist line will dissapear again if my mouse hovers over the clips pane then back to the Time Line.

Other than that, things are great.
