No sound on audition of midi drum samples after X2 upgrade

using the samples provided under Session Drummer. clicking on them auditions the sample. This worked in X1 but now under X2 I get no sound. I can drag the sample into a track and it plays just fine. It is only the audition that has no sound. Any ideas as to why? I looked in preferences and there is minimal in there for audition, and nothing regarding output selections.

What soundcard do you have and is it configured properly? Make sure the output of the Session Drummer track (not the MIDI track) is set to Master or your soundcard.

I did just find in the reference manual where to check the Audio Preview Buss. It is in the Browser under the Media button. daveny5 - yeah I checked all these things at the time. As I think back to that session, I DID have 3 SONAR crashes prior to this happening. Now I am wondering if it affected my audio interface somehow in this regard..

I apologize if this isn't very clear (I'm not at my DAW), but in the Browser, there's a (drop down) menu option you need to check to select your soundcard as the output.

There maybe other ways of enabling this, but this has worked for me. Someone else might hopefully chime in and please correct me if I'm wrong.

thanks Mesh. Looks like we each replied about the same time on this point. I would have never thought to look in the Browser for that.

A possible fix may be to re-install the current drivers to your soundcard.....

For MIDI samples to preview you need to have a synth loaded and that synth selected as the preview synth. TTS-1 is a good candiate as drum loops don't sound quite right as a piano sound via Dim Pro.

Obviously session drummer will work fine for drums but other loops may sound a little funny.
