Weird Midi Problem
I've been using Sonar 8.5 for years without problems. I had to stop doing music to a personal problem for about 6 months. My computer has been in storage. I get it out, and start making music again. The midi notes are there in piano view and Staff view. However, sonar just won't play them. It changes the color of the notes as it goes through the timeline in Staff View, but the TruePianos or Eastwest Pianos don't play them. I can't decide if it's skipping notes (entire measures) or it's just not starting on time. It seems to go back and forth. When I click the keys on TruePianos with the audio stopped, there is a clear delay from me clicking a note and Sonar playing it. When playing back real audio, there are no problems at all. This problem is ONLY with Midi.
Either way, It just won't play what's there in time. Has anyone had this problem before? Any suggestions on how to fix it?
8.5 has always worked great for me, but I just can't figure out what's wrong with it now. It has me stumped.
To test the midi file, I saved the midi file from Sonar. I opened the midi file in Sibelius. It plays just fine. The problem is in Sonar somewhere.
