X1 won't play VST's - SONAR 8.5 works fine -

hey ya'll - man i got everything working fine - then today i installed EZ drummer... so far so good - then i could load a soft synth but it doesn't respond to MIDI/USB PCR500 !!! i didn't change anything - funny - it doesn't have a RECORD icon on the VST track now -?? i can load older songs & can play the synths on each track and can insert a new VST, but it won't play i still have SONAR 8.5 & everything works fine on it!! WTH??? - i have rescanned - i guess i did something dumb any ideas out there??

    Need more info... Computer specs, soundcard, version of Windows, 32-bit or 64-bit?

    windows xp 32 / m-audio / pcr-500 like i said, everything has been ducky - then today X1 shows all my plugin vst's and will insert them just like before ( i use a blank template) - they show up just like before but no matter what i do - i can't play them - NO RED RECORD icon on track - the stand alones play fine & ALL VSTi's work as they should in SONAR 8.5 i have been thru all the usual settings & everything is the same this leads me to believe it's something i did in X1

    Can you post a screen shot of what your Insert Soft Synth options are?
