Lexicon Pantheon
Several people have stated they think BREVERB has some similarities in sound to the Lexicon Pantheon plugin that came with Sonar 8. At the time I didn't find much use for Pantheon, feeling it was often too "metallic" and too susceptible to being taken over by sibilance in vocal tracks. I've since learned more about how to use it and like Pantheon on strings and pianos where I want "lush" reverb. Vocals too if I put a de-esser in-line before the reverb. But I still haven't fallen in love with it like some have, so I'm wondering. What instruments/styles do you really like Pantheon on? For those that love Pantheon and have X2 how different/similar does BREVERB feel to you? Hoping you guys can jumpstart me a bit in using these reverbs more effectively. I've used a lot more of the UAD reverbs lately (EMT 140, EMT250, Dreamverb, Realverb, etc. Haven't sprung for the Lexicon 224 yet as budget for music gear is tighter now.) I'm hoping that with the Pantheon and BREVERB I may fill that "space" without buying the 224 UAD. Peace, Tunes

I like the pantheon. I do miss it but I was wondering cant you load sonar 8 and just copy the .dll file to the 32 bit folder? Wouldn't that work? I do own the full version of breverb and it is nothing like the pantheon. However maybe with some tweaking you could get it to sound like the pantheon.

I installed the Lexicon Pantheon from my 8.5 disks, works fine in SONAR X1 64bit. It is a 64bit DX effect.

I did the same scook. All this talk about BREVERB and Pantheon made me start to miss Pantheon so I had to install it to take a second look. At this point I think my favorite trick is using on a vocal reverb bus with the Pro Channel EQ set to Pure and the high shelf up a dB or so at 5k, Gloss turned on, and putting a de-esser before Pantheon. This gives some great air without ridiculous sibilance. Anyone else have some favorite uses? Peace, Tunes

You do not have to perform a complete SONAR install, use the custom install option and select what you want to install. I guess you could try to copy the dll & chm into the shared plugins directory and run regsvr32 (is there a different 64 bit version of this I have never added anything by hand) but I used the 8.5 installer.

Put your Sonar 8 disk in and use "Custom" or "advanced", whatever it is called. deselect everything except for the desired vst plugins/pantheon. The pantheon will be the only box checked for the entire install. After the installation is complete you will have a stray Sonar 8 folder in the Cakewalk folder that can be manually deleted. I had just gone through this procedure a few weeks ago while playing with win 8.

I think Breverb is in a different league than Pantheon. I would compare Breverb closer to Vahalla Room or Wizooverb in terms of quality of sound. All are different and I love/like them all. Breverb will get a lot of use here because it sounds so good and is modular to the PC. Don't forget Sonitus Reverb. A high quality and versatile verb that's been at our fingertips for years. And of course we have Perfect Space. I don't think I will need any additional reverbs at this point.

I tried this with my sonar powerstudio DVD and it didn't work what seems to be the secret. I have vista so is that version going to look for sonar 6 or will it work with any future version of sonar?

Another long-time Pantheon fan here... though I always used the surround version since it's not as "in our face" and seems to be blend better, even with the same general settings.

Different strokes for different folks! I love Pantheon... it IS lush! I used it VERY successfully on a live session with a clarinetist, and have also used it on vocals, strings, pads, piano, acoustic guitars, and drums. I didn't use it for a very long time, but after I spent a little time tweaking it, I discovered just how rich it can sound. I think all the reverbs mentioned so far in this post all have a place in our consoles...just depends on the application, instrument, or whatever "sounds good". "Sounds good" is so subjective, isn't it?

Always been puzzled by all the love the Pathenon gets. I could never make it even remotely usable (unlike Sonitus Reverb, which I still use sometimes, even with all my $$$ of verb plugs). Grainy, tinny and weird are words I would use to describe the core sound quality of the Panthenon. But a lot of people I have great respect for have made it work for them so go figure!!

Sven I spent quite a bit of time feeling the same as you. I've only recently come back to see if I missed anything and am finding I do like it now for some things. I think part of the key for me is using it with Console Emulation. Without Console Emulation it can sound a little digital, but the combination is proving more successful to me. That said, I've only scratched the surface, as I'm really only using it when I want high end shimmer and motion. Peace, Tunes

I used to love pantheon for the more extreme fx in conjuntion with chopping and delay effects,It used to really pull it all together in a lush way compared to my other reverbs.

I don't think I'll be coming around to digging up my old SONAR discs to find out, though. Have you tried Valhalla Room yet? For real audible effect reverb I haven't heard anything like it, except perhaps Aether but that's much more expensive. Valhalla is no good for rooms (in spite of its name) or subtle ambiences, but for lush verbscapes, it rules supreme!

Personally I never cared for the Pantheon / Lexicon sound for the same reason you list - it sounds metallic even with careful settings. I used to have TC Electronic hardware reverb that was beautiful and versatile, but I have found that Sonitus and Perfect Space are adequate replacements. Too many of the same type of effect is a diminishing return to me. I think Cakewalk has gone crazy with add on effects and I personally have no interest in Broverb, especially if it sounds like Pantheon. My suggestion is to find a couple reverbs you like and stick with those rather than having too many - but do what works for you in the end.

cornieleous especially if it sounds like Pantheon It doesn't, though. Not at all! The Breverb included with X2 has airy halls, convincing rooms and dense plates. None of which can be found in Pantheon (IMO).

Haven't tried Valhalla yet. So far I've found the UAD collection I have so far has gotten me most of what I look for in reverbs (EMT 140, EMT 250, Dreamverb, Realverb Pro.) I'll have to check out Valhalla, though. I hear nothing but amazing things. Peace, Tunes

tunekicker (EMT 140, EMT 250, Dreamverb, Realverb Pro.) I have all of those and they're all amazing (The venerable Realverb Pro is still my goto verb for rooms) But Valhalla still has something that none of them can match. And that is that whole lush, big blanket of reverb that's more complex than a plate, denser than a classic digital unit and more out-of-this world than space simulators. You should also check out Aether. It can do all of those things and more...

I found the Lexicon Pantheon reverb to be a great quick utility reverb when tracking or roughing out mixes. I can't tell you how many tracks it stayed on through to the final mix. I'm missing it in X1 and think I'll got back to my Sonar 8 discs and grab the .dll as some have suggested. I'm also a big fan of the the Audio Damage ADverb in the same way.

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You guys for mentioning Pantheon Reverb. After reading this thread I dig out my Sonar8.5.3 Disk and install the Pantheon Reverb. I miss this reverb like lost love found again. I m on X2 now but even though like like Breverb, I found myself able to dial up a reverb sound that I like from Pantheon a lot faster than Breverb, Sonitus Reverb or the 32bit convolution reverb (forgot the hame). I am very happy today! Many thanks from all of you who had contributed in this thread.

It is a very small download and you should try it. I almost bought it but before I took the plunge Cakewalk announced the X2 with Breverb included and you can guess where my money goes.
