A Roll In The Hay - featuring Earl Foote

I wrote this six or seven years ago - I don't think I've ever posted it here before.

Earl is a master player - he plays every kind of string instrument imaginagle.

I played the guitar on this - Earl does all the slide guitar work.

Thanks for taking a listen to A Roll In The Hay.

As I've maintained, you can't not like a song with a dobro in it... But I see it's only a guitar being played with a slide. . . So I'm allowed to not like it? But I don't (try figuring out all of those double negatives...)

He should do this with a Resophonic guitar? It would sound better. (it is good though)

Please tell me it's pronounced "foo-tay?"

    Nice work on the guitar.

    Hey, Mark,

How are you, buddy?  Doing great, I hope!

Both you and Earl did a dynamite job on this nice, swampy blues rocker with a real "down-home" vibe, great guitar tones and very tasty slide work!  The mix is nice and wide, and crystal clear on my monitors.

Great performances and production work, Mark, have a rockin' weekend!

    Great music.

I really liked the stripped down percussion... it left lots of room for the guitars to sound real good!

    Thanks for sharing.

Nicely done.  Very well recorded and mixed.  The guitars sound excellent!  I like the panning work.

Sounds like you have been playing years together.  TIGHT!  The recording of the dobro sounds great as does the rest of the mix. WONDERFUL tune gents!
