X2 - Hidden MIDI Automation?

How to get MIDI info like CC1, CC7, etc to show up?
do you have to have a dedicated MIDI Channel, or will the Combined MIDI/Audio (Simple Instrument Track) work?

Try opening the PRV and using the controller pane at the bottom, that's where all the CC automation should be available.   I'm not sure whether a track based envelope can be used like that - never tried!

Look at the Event List. Every Midi entry in a track will be listed there. The event list is re-writable to a large extent. You can change values in most things listed. It's music in midi math on a minor level. There are no midi envelopes that I know of. The controller values in the PRV can be changed. You'll have to study that. It's bit complex, but it amounts to the same changes an audio envelope would make. Somewhat.

I'm not at my DAW now...but I think you can open the PRV...look at the bottom of the screen where the midi controller info is.  IIRC there is a + and - box on the left hand side.  Clicking on the + will open up more controllers......I think.  :)  You might even be able to change which controller is active in each window.

    edited for correction...
