X2 is running pretty darned smoothly here...

I've been tracking a song structure for the past 4 hours or so and I gotta say... this is pretty awesome. X1 was extremely awkward to work with compared to this. Everything just made sense, no weird little workflow quirks and there weren't the annoying little pauses, freezes or sound drops when doing stuff. I did have one audio engine stop while trying to range select a bunch of takes (was deleting a section of the song and moving the arse end of the takes up to the cut point) but the little window popped up quick, closed quick and I could resume playback immediately. In X1 that type of stop would lag and cause white screens and trying to get playback again would take a couple of tries. I'm sure I'll stumble into something stupid at some point but so far this is a massive improvement. The new take lanes are WAY better (but why the height limit?). The scroll, zoom, drag functions on the ruler are a GODSEND. TH2 Producer sounds great and... well it all just seems to work and in a much more intuitive fashion. However considering I paid $200 more than a ton of people I still want some free stuff. STUFF!!

Hi, scook. What's all that stuff do? BTW... I ordered the Oxygen today. Can't wait to start bending out on some of the synth wackiness. :-)

The link I gave you are a series of free libraries for Rapture. The site also has libraries for many other synths.

Thanks. Bookmarked for later. I'm really REALLY looking forward to actually messing around with the synths. I mean I know I can just audition the sounds and whatever and toss them into the PRV but that just ain't the same as hitting some actual keys and fiddling with scroll wheels and the like. I'm gonna make that little keyboard HURT.

There are drawbacks to having too many synths & presets. I have sooooo many. Sometimes I'll set about auditioning some sounds for a track, and before I know it it's 5 hours later and I've been jamming non-stop, having completely forgotten what I was doing in the first place.

X2 in general seems to be causing a "lost time" effect in my little section of reality. Start fiddling with and BOOM... hours have passed. In X1 I was just forcing myself to work with it.

It's downhill from here. Just keep the record button on, you will at least have proof that you were doing something.

Should I invest in a large bucket?
