Something I just discovered about the display-delay..

I think the display-delay may be caused of PC..

I just tried jumping back and forth between tracks and buses.
First I noticed the delay varied some from time to time and I
also noticed that there was no delay at all sometimes!

In the corner of my eye I saw that the names updated exactly after
the PC had updated its display. The reason I didn't get any delay at
all sometimes was the the PC didn't update the display these times..
(If this is another bug or not I don't know, though)
Soo.. Maybe the latency isn't in the name-update, but in the PC-update!(?)

I just wanted to say this and see if anyone else can confirm this behaviour?

( The result of my latest post in the X1-X2 forum have scared the s**t out
of me and made me quite sad, by the way... Maybe we really are abandoned:

I am having trouble understanding your post - probably my fault - can you please try to re-explain what is happening?

I do not understand the 'delay' you are referring to.  Are you referring to a delay between VS-700 and PC in terms of displayed names and such?

If so, how much of a delay are you talking about, and what is the effect of such a delay on your work flow?

Loptec ..thks but it was stated that this was PC related .....so yeah you're right ....in X1D the pc wasn't implemeneted in the vs700 control ability ....and then it appears as soon as it was implemented !

    do you own a vs-700?
because if you did I figure you would understand this problem and know how awfully lot this affects the workflow

ah. ok! i didn't know this was already connected to the PC..  well then.. it's a good thing I guess, cuz it means that they've had more time to look at the problem

    Hi Loptec

Ryan from cake explained the reason for the display lag here http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=2667217

Do I own one?  No - Since you were complaining about a lack of support I thought I'd take a look in the forum to see if there were any issues I could help with.  What I DO have is 38 of programming, and well over 20 years of using Sonar, in addition to writing software that SPECIFICALLY deals with connected devices.

Since you apparently have no wish to answer a question asking for some clarity in your request for help, I can only wish you the best of luck in figuring it all out.

Sorry if my post offended you in any way.. It wasn't my intention at all.

The reason I chose not to answer is simply that this issue is one of the most discussed in this
forum and not very hard to find very detailed information  (even videos) about, in other posts.

Also; my post wasn't a question about how to solve the problem. I already know it's a bug that
only a future update-patch from cake can take care of.

My post was just about me wanting to share that I'd discovered a relation between
the delay of the track/bus-names updates and the update of the ProChannel-display
(the display beeing the one on the 700C) .. and that I wanted to hear if anyone else
had noticed this.. As it turned out this relation apparently already was known,

If you (by reading the other posts about this problem and watching the videos) in any way can
contribute and give cakewalk the ultimate tip that'll help them solve this problem,
you'll be my hero for the rest of my life. I promise :)

    Cheers

Thanks - as I had indicated, I had only just started to look at the forum, to see if there was anything I could help with.

I'll spend some time tomorrow looking for additional info on the issues.  I was trying to understand how to measure the effect of the indicated delay on your work flow, and it wasn't clear from your particular post.

Someone else was kind enough to post pointing me to additional background on the issue.

If there is anything I can help with, I will do my best to do so.
