The "Rockabilly" label has changed lately, I guess ;)  You have shown us quite a number of different bands, and the common thread is your mixing skill.  This song has plenty of drive and energy, all the parts are clear and present, and it just rocks.  It's not over loud nor over compressed, which I like.  What's next for you?  Scottish polka death metal?  I'm sure that you'll be able to handle it with aplomb.

    All the best,
    Lynn

Ok, well.... they have a bunch of rockabilly influences in there.  Let's call it PUNK ROCKABILLY.

    Notnat- Thanks man!

Lynn- Thanks for the compliments, I think I am starting to get fairly decent at this.   I have a total of 15.5 hours wrapped up in these 2 songs for these guys.  We tracked everything last Sunday, & I had the mix for the other tune fairly well dialed in by the end of that 6.5 hr session.  Wednesday I spent another 6 hours or so tweaking the mix on this one (much of it was the drummers kick hits were: soft, Hard, softer, HARD HARD, soft, crazy soft, Hard again...  lots of manual fixes in there.  Then he actually came back in and punched in Cymbal hits ....?   Yep!  I hadn't noticed that he left all the crash hits out to focus on tempo & then wanted to punch them in, so we got that done too & dialed the mixes in pretty solid for both & gave them copies.
They listened and noticed there were issues with one of the guitar leads & asked me to try to find a way to blend some different takes we hadn't used to make a better lead....
So on Friday, I did that.  and armed with notes I made after checking it on a few systems.... I tweaked a little more and did what I could to pseudo master them here in house.  I wanted it thumping but not over compressed and I think I accomplished that goal too.   If you know of a  Scottish polka death metal band, send them my way!

    Panu- thanks man, I try!

Mike- That's funny I have heard people say Lemme from motorhead, and on the other song (though I think it's more the melody in the verse) I hear The Clash - "Rock the Casbah"  Thanks for listening!
