New UAD Octo card

The new top-of-the-line UAD-2 OCTO DSP Accelerator ($1,499US) features eight SHARC processors on a single PCIe card and easily installs into a PCIe-equipped Mac or PC workstation or compatible expansion chassis — giving music producers and engineers twice the processing power of its UAD-2 QUAD DSP Accelerator counterpart. For UAD power users running large audio sessions with high UAD plug-in instances and/or high sample rates, the UAD-2 OCTO DSP Accelerator is the uncompromising professional solution.

Pffft. I already have two QUADs.

But it does seem like a great entry point for those just starting out if you want maximum capacity.

Yeah, I saw that in my email account today.  Very interested because it could extend the life of my current computer for a couple of more years.  Then again the price of a computer upgrade may be less than that.

Dave Modisette ... rocks a Purrrfect Audio Studio Pro rig.

Pfft. But they take up two slots. I have a Quad and a Solo but I'm out of slots.

Pfft. I'm just going to get two Octo cards then.

No four, two for back ups.

    My dream, as of today:

An Apollo with a Octo in it for Windows.

    Now THAT would be something.
