Two show-stoppers (that are probably my own overlookings)

I'm hoping that perhaps I'm just missing something.

I recorded a song in X1d, opened in X2 and saved anew. Same thing I did with X1 to see if I can grasp how it all works.

First thing, and this is a show-stopper, the meters do not move on playback on certain tracks. No rhyme or reason as far as I can tell. 2 Bass guitar tracks, no movement. 4 acoustic guitar tracks, nadda. 3 electric guitar tracks are ok tho.
I hit stop, and the meters show the last value. Is this a bug, or am I missing a new option somewhere I need to set?? I can't mix without metering.

Next, how do you work with track lanes where you have muted clips (sliced up) and the muted ones are the ones that show when you fold the track back up? 1/2 of my drum tracks end up being seen as muted clips because I end up using Take 3 or something. If I could re-order the lanes that'd fix it I guess. Is there an option to just show active/un-muted clips??

I truly don't want to be a troll. Just have those two main issues that are actually keeping me from working with X2 at the moment. I'm sure it's all user-error :)

I read this was an issue elsewhere on the forum. (Metering).
I'm still wondering how to best use track lanes with continuous material like drums where you need to use crossfades rather than the mute tool.

Opened 5 projects from X1d-all meters are moving on all tracks-you do mean the leds, right?

LEDS and peak numbers at the top of the LEDs.
I have run a project made in X1d with no issue, so I see it working fine as well. I'm not the only one with this issue tho, and people have reported it with brand-new X2 projects.

    Hi Foo,

I think you definitely may have an isolated case here that you may want to talk to tech support about. I went all the way back to projects I had created in Sonar 5 and they opened in X2 without a problem. I didn't see the meter thing happen one time on this end. Of course I opened about 8 X1 projects and a few 8.5's and 8.0's to check first...but happened to remember one I had on one of my old machines (which I still have networked into my scheme of things lol) that was done in 5.0 so I just had to try it. This is definitely something to contact support about and it may be a good idea to include the project that is causing the issues. Usually a .cwp of the project without the audio is good enough, but see what they tell you.

As for you question on the take lanes, I don't have much experience with them yet. As a matter of fact, I barely use that and always punch in until I get what I'm looking for in a single take. Fast Biker Boy (Karl) may see this and chime in. He knows a lot about that stuff. Sorry I can't be more helpful, but I'm not seeing any meter issues on my end. I hope you sort it out.

Must say I opened about 5 of my old X1D projects and not a problem anywhere in X2.
I know thats not helping either, but its good to know its not an across the board problem happening to everyone.
    Good luck with your troubleshooting.
I feel your pain hard to do anything without metering.

    Cheers
