X2 Bus Send Level Envelope not respected? Is this a bug?

Well, I've finally hit a problem in X2 that I can't figure out.

I have a track that has a send to an FX bus. By default, it's post fader, level 0 db. I hear the track and the FX'ed audio.
Then I create an automation envelope on the track, for FX Send. At 0 db (default level across the timeline), I hear the FX'd audio.
Then I grab the envelope and pull it down to -35db or whatever (I only want the FX at selected times). The FX'd audio goes away, as expected.
Now I add some nodes at the appropriate points to put the FX Send level to 0 db.

I don't hear the FX.
I don't see the Send Level Widget value change from -35db as I play back through the automation nodes.
I do see the "W" symbol that indicates that the level is controlled by an envelope, however.

Is this a known problem in X2? Any ideas about what I could have missed?

Thanks in advance.

Be sure you have the "R" (read) on. Make sure the send is going to the buss you want it to go to.

Make sure the aux buss is not muted.

There are now 3 different Write methods. See the site below for explanation of the three.

However, once you have adjusted it, then as John said above you should be in R(ead) mode not W(rite) mode.

Sonar Platinum 64bit, Win 8.1 Pro 64bit,  Quad Core 3.2GHz,  16G ram, Edirol FA 101, Nvidia
EW (Platinum Orchestra, Hollywood Strings, Pianos, Gypsy, Fab 4, Ministry of Rock,Choirs, etc)

Thanks guys.  I understand about the W for automation, good guess.
    It wasn't anything like that.

I tried duplicating the problem with a clean empty project this morning, and of course it worked fine.

Then I opened the project that showed the problem last night, and everything worked fine.

So I forgot the cardinal rule of reporting bugs: If something isn't working, try exiting SONAR and re-opening it fresh and see if the problem is still there.

Clearly there's an issue whereby if you're moving clips around and forget to include the automation, then try to re-create the envelope... etc etc... then SONAR can get confused. Goodness knows, I would be.

    Back to work.
