Console view locking groups of faders

I was wondering if there is a way to lock faders in groups in the console view. I need group certain instruments together for mixing. I did a search and came up with nothing. Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks

In console view, right-click the fader and select an existing group or create your own. Repeat as need be.

You could do with either downloading the official X1 or X2 Reference Guides or buying a third party manual. Or even purchase one of the many tutorial videos available. Asking around here is great too, I'm not getting at you for that, I just find it handy to exhaust the other avenues first before searching the forums here.

Regarding Contol Groups, if you have X1 then you need to turn to Page 876 of the X1 Reference guide. If you have X2 then you need to turn to Page 914 of the X2 Reference guide.

It is worth getting to know what the guides say about grouping because there is a lot more to it than simply grouping a number of controls together. For instance, there are three ways in which you can set the behaviour of the group; Absolute, Relative and Custom. I won't go into any more detail than that because I don't have the time at the moment.

    cheers

As pointed out there are some very powerful grouping options available, especially when creating custom groups.

There is of course also quick grouping which is simply select tracks, hold ctrl key, move parameter. All selected channels/tracks respond. Downside is as soon as you release the ctrl key group members area forgotten.
