    Yes.

We got an HD Symphony String pack for Dim Pro.

But ... I think I saw somewhere that they gave it away to everyone who downloaded it even after the early adopter thingy. Not sure.

I just got an email that says it's included with the latest 'deal' through October.

That's partly why I'm not sure what it actually means.

What is the free-stuff?  Demo versions of full products?

I guess it's a case of wait and see if anything worthwhile gets offered up.

Loops and samples I have trouble keeping at a sensible level let alone being given a load more.  Same with tutorial stuff, I've got more handy tips and tricks than I could get through in a lifetime.

Synth patches are always cool though.

well, maybe.  I don't think I've ever used dimpro or rapture le in a project.  I'm not even positive I installed dimpro last time?

If the strings are better thsn kontakt's stock ones then I might use them, but it would have to be a lot better because I've usually always already got kontakt loaded, so dimpro would be inconvenient for me, so I'd have to like those sounds a LOT better in order to use them.

That's why it didn't bother me to pass them up.

Hard to say really. The impression I got was, if you buy something, you'll get something for free. Kind of like the more you spend the more you get type of thing. Personally, I'm not interested in Demo versions or full versions that don't include everything.

I really like Dim Pro ... when it's working ... it seems to be a very picky synth and doesn't take much to corrupt it's installation. So I'm happy with the free strings. I'm always looking for usable string samples, they are actually very hard to come by so the more I can get my hands on, the happier I am.

I agree ... I could probably whittle down the samples I use, across everything I use, to around 100MB, if that?

And on a side note, speaking of samples ... WHY IN THE HELL IS SONAR INSTALLING MY SESSION DRUMMER SAMPLES ON MY C DRIVE WHEN I TOLD IT TO INSTALL THEM ON MY D DRIVE!!!!!!??????????

I'm installing as I'm surfing the forums.

Sorry for yelling. I've just been sitting here for 2 days trying to get this crap installed and it's getting to me. Doh!
Synth patches are always cool though.
I agree ... I love playing around with Z3TA and Pentagon I and others. I could never get those sounds out of them if I had to start from scratch.

Man I'm so frustrated right now. I once reprogrammed, from scratch, a live order video feed from the drive-thru windows point of sales machine to the kitchen drive-thru order video monitor for a large KFC, at 6:30pm on a Friday afternoon in 20 minutes ... but I can't get Sonar installed in 48 hours on my own system.

Man it's frustrating some times. Makes me feel ignorant.

Gotta go, I'm sure we'll see more about this as time goes on, anything free is always good, if it's usable ...

The DSF stuff is usually very good.  They are usually more akin to keyboard module style stuff than big authentic libraries though, so you may not get the full orchestral vibe but they can often be very useful sounds.
