English Rose - NEW cover version
The original version of this song by The Jam means a lot to me and I wasn't sure if I could do it justice. I'm still not sure if I have done it justice but I have poured a lot of feeling into it. Just me on this one. http://soundcloud.com/skyblueproductions/english-rose-by-staypress-1

Well done, Daryl. You made this your own song. First class production all the way. I, too, like your voice in this. Encore!

Hi Darryl, I normally avoid listening to covers like the plague. I decided to make an exception ;). Nice work, channeling Paul quite well. I wasn't too sure about the guitar in the beginning, once the piano offset to the left it felt better. I have not heard the original version in a while of course. Cheers, Tony

It sounds much better for not having that miserable ruffian singing it. This is much more sensitive than the original and yes the feeling you've put into it really does come across. Nice one. Overall it just sounds a little high in the 2-8kHz range for my liking. Like someones turned the treble a tad too far. That would be my only nit to pick, it just sounds a little 'brittle' to me.

Mesh - thanks bro from a different mo - I didn't quite get the CD done for Monday - maybe next Monday :) Daryl - have I ever told you what a great name you have? Thanks for the compliments - always appreciated JB - thanks for listening mate. I am glad that the emotion came across. It's not about a girl to me and the song really does mean a lot when you're a long way from home. I actually agree with you on the 'brittle' thing - I had been working on something the other day and my daughter wanted to hear this song. I felt the same way hearing it straight after something else. I will get round to sorting it out one day. Bapu - arse
