(Solved) X2 - deleting space easily??

I need to remove 8 bars from the middle of a project. The project has several tracks, folders and tracks with lanes mixed in there as well.

I simply would like to mark the area I don't need, delete and all the clips to the right slip over the empty hole. This is not something I need a lot. But the only way I know to do this is to split the clips individually on both sides and delete/delete hole. When there are folders and track-lanes involved I am forced to go through each clip on each side to split. I need X2 to offer me the option to splice the tape so to speak. Is it there and I'm missing something - hopefully...

That process also leaves multi-undo's for all of the work done should I change my mind. What should be a couple of minutes work IMO turns out to be a 20 minute process.

Help if you know of a better way then what I'm doing. - - Thank You - -

I have often wondered why it is easy to ADD measures, but so difficult to remove them myself.  Am I doing something wrong or not seeing an option?

Cheers!

Its so easy you won't believe it.

Start with your mouse pointer at the top right of where you want to edit.
Hold down the ALT key, left click and drag the mouse to the bottom right of where you want to edit.
Hit delete or CTRL-X to cut.

Done

There has to be a better way. I'm holding on to hope that someone here knows what that way is.

Thanks Dave, I'll try this.

Does this work across folders and track lanes as well?

Thanks Dave - this works. A big time saver.

I still had to delete the hole versus hitting cut. Cut left the hole...

oops... I may have misread your post... I was talking about blank measures.

Cheers!
