PC User Module Question

On a PC module I notice that knobs & faders change the gui's parameters but the reverse isn't true; changing settings on the gui doesn't change the module's.

Is this typical how these work?

Thanks

My brain went on holiday for the weekend.  Can you please elaborate on the situation you are asking about?

What do you mean by PC module?  A VST plugin?  What GUI?  The property page for a plugin?

Do you mean a midi controller?  If so, which one?

Sorry about the questions -  I just did not understand what you were referring to.  Happy to help you if I can understand the situation,

    Bob Bone

    Hi Bob,

I'm referring to Pro Channel user fx modules.
Changing setting or parameters on the actual vst are not reflected on the learned buttons or knobs.

This means if I make any tweaks on the plugin itself that I have to also make sure I to change them on the module otherwise saving a preset won't have the correct settings.

    Is this correct?

You're not wrong.  And in my opinion, even though I'm overall very positive so far about X2, this is quite frustrating.

To be fair though, this never worked both ways with fx chains from what I can tell.

I mostly use pc fx chain modules for hooking up my Waves h-eq in Neve mode (or inserting Slate Digital VCC at the end of he PC which doesn;t really need interaction).

The way I deal with it, is only control the fx chain parameters from the fx chain module even when the native fx gui is open. You may have to deal with two interfaces controlling one plugin when it's gui is open but at least it works.

Aah - yes you are correct that it is a one-way ticket.

    Thanks,

That's too bad, with the plugins I'm trying not all the buttons or knobs are capable of being 'learned' so going back & forth between them & double checking each tweak isn't worth the hassle or wasted time.
Too much room for error with projects containing critical parameters.

Try submitting it as a Feature Request.  Maybe they will build it in at a later date.

I might but still doesn't help in the meantime. After using X1 for 2 years & finally deciding to really dig into PC I was hoping that issues like these would've been sorted out.

I'm quickly falling out of love with PC.
