"Ghost Dance" - first X2 mix

I recently finished reading 'A History of the Indians of the United States' and it inspired me to read more about what actually happened at Wounded Knee. I know others have written songs about it, e.g. Buffy St Marie, but this is my attempt at describing the tragedy.

I don't know where to start.  This could have been Neil Young and Crazyhorse, except for the voice.  The production and performances are right on.  It comes out of my speakers like gangbusters.  It has a raw energy while sounding polished at the same time.  You seem to have put into words a part of American history that many of us don't quite understand, yet in an eloquent way that goes down to a visceral level.  This is definitely an A+.

p.s.- I've been recording and mixing in X2, and I think we're going to hear a lot of first class mixes in the coming year from this program.  You've created a fine demonstration of what can be accomplished with Sonar.

Excellent job my friend!  I'm listening with laptop headphones right now, but it sounds very balanced between the parts, and EQ'd just right for the genre.  Great guitar tone too.

I agree with Lynn's comments also, adding that I might hear a little of the Outlaws guitar tones in there too (Ghost Riders in the Sky)  (That's a good thing!!)

Looking forward to your next cut!

    Cheers!

wow, comes through nice and clear even on my laptop and ear buds.  Very clean, superb production and I also enjoyed the video stills.  This is a very powerful performance and your vocals are great for this piece of history.  Nicely done, thanks for sharing this!

Excellent mix. Heard a little Mellencamp and Springsteen on this.

Great mix.  Sounds a lot like Mellencamp, maybe a little Dire Straits.   Very good.    Like it very much.   The intro is really cool too...
