Rapture won't except reg code in X2
I installed X2. (just the 4 X2 files)
I did not install an update to Rapture.
I have been using Rapture 1.2.
I don't want any Rapture updates as anything after 1.2 removes dxi compatability.
Yes, I know, dxi is dead yada yada. However, I have hundreds of sketches, tunes, projects and would have to go thru all of them and note what patch I loaded in Rapture. I haven't done that and I don't want to do that.
edit: actually, I just realized, I CAN'T DO THAT now.. ARGHH.
Anyway, now that X2 is loaded, I can't access/use Rapture in 8.53, X1, or X2 because it won't except my registration code.
Is there a fix or workaround besides uninstalling X2 and all the crap involved with doing that efficiently?

This resolves any authorization issues and ensures you are running the latest build of Rapture 1.2.2 " Thanks ED. But, as you can see, that just makes matters worse. Point is, that any version after 1.2 does not load the proper patches because (they are dxi I guess). I have the same issue with DimPro. (except that at least DimPro 1.2 will load and play). It's all way beyond rude.

Tim,
I only have X1 and X2 installed.
I originally had the full Rapture 1.2.0 installed before X2.
After initial X2 install, I could not enter the Rapture reg code in X1 or X2.
After the above fix I loaded Rapture reg code in standalone Rapture X64. Now I can open Rapture 1.2.2 in X1 or X2 (both 64 bit) and I can load any patch I have in the list with no problems.
Sounds like something got really dinked up in your installation to me.

I can load any patch I have in the list with no problems. Well, if you started with v1.2 then it was dxi. The 1.2.2 patch makes it VST. And yes, I'm sure you can load patches. But, Can you bring up an older project that had been saved with v1.20 and the new Rapture will correctly load the preset that you had chosen back when you created the project?

Tim,
I've never used Rapture in a project where I save the raw synth track. I typically bounce to audio and then kill the synth track. Just my workflow.
But I guess I now see your problem. Sorry I am of no help here.

I now see the "real" problem.
Most manufacturers will instinctively set their registry entries to know when a new version supersedes old versions and warn the new version should be deployed (since the old verision is no longer available).
Example: EzMix v2 knew I had Ezmix in a project and warned me that I needed to choose the new version.
Apparently Cake (or it's suppliers of DimPro and Rapture) did not do that.
Maybe there's more to it than I know but I can say it has worked for some VST manufacturers on my system.

Both DP and RP have Version set to 1.5 in my registry, but I don't know what it was for the previous version.

Tim, have you run Rapture as stand alone from Windows?
If you run this "As Administrator" it should accept your new serial & reg numbers
