Studio Acoustic Response Test Tone

Can someone help me to configure one of the X1 Producer synths to produce a clean sine wave test tone using the midi note sequence I laid out that runs from E1-E3? I tried to do it using Pentagon I by turning off all but the first osc, choosing a sine wave and turning off all the effects; but it didn't work. All the sounds I got were still distorted.

Thanks.

Never mind. I used Triangle II and one of the presets in the download package with the 2nd edition of Simon Cann's cakewalk synthensizers book to produce the sine wave I needed.
