Anything like Speakerphone 2 out there that is 64bit, cheaper etc.????

I keep looking into Speakerphone 2 as a next purchase but it's $495 and only 32bit so far.

Kinda steep just to play with vocals.  thought the freatures seem pretty cool.

is there anything in the market that compares to Speakerphone 2??

I know I don't need all the features of Speakerphone - I do like the demos of the phones, radios mics, but I will never throw a sound in the trunk of a car to muffle it - though the though does bring inspriation hahaha.

I'd just like to find some other 64bit plugins that may do some of the things, maybe even 2-3 alternatives that souldn't be as pricey as $495 for a one trick pony if ya know what I mean.

Does Speakerphone 2 32bit play well in a 64bit enviorment?  I have Sonar X1, gunna upgrade to X2 but not til later.  any advice?

Nectar from Izotope can do some of those sounds.

And you would probably get more use out of it than the speakerphone. It can put a nice shine on vocals too.

AFAIK, Speakerphone is unique. It's aimed, I think, at video post-production studios that need to emulate some specific real-world effect for a soundtrack. I think it would be a killer effect to have, but in music production it usually isn't necessary to exactly reproduce the sound of a kidnap victim shouting from the trunk of a 1972 Lincoln.

Although Speakerphone may be in a class by itself, the technique of using impulse response files to emulate speakers isn't unique. Many amp sims also support speaker simulation, and although they're more concerned with emulating guitar amplifiers than, say, bullhorns they can still do interesting things with vocals.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Maybe I'll just go old school and use distortion and those effects for vocals for a while.

Nectar seems, um, feature full (nice way of saying wow look at all that to learn) LOL.  Does have some nice stuff in there but not really speak emulators or styles.  on the list to try though.

I'll go read up on impulse response files and see what I can learn.

    Thanks.
