Next step after recording?

So say I recorded vocals, guitars and keyboard at -6db. What should be the next step?

after you get the levels adjusted right using envelopes, and add the FX that you need to master/polish the sound of the mix...... you select all the tracks and export it to the desktop or some other location folder where you can find it.

At that point... it should be pretty much ready to burn to a CD..... or whatever you plan to do with it.

Somehow I thought you knew that....

I get that, but I'm looking more in to the details of how to go about it. This is what I got so far...Record with the meter peaking at -6db. Then use the gain/trim to do a rough mix. After adding fx, I use the volume fader to bring my track to peak at 0db. Correct me if I'm wrong.. Question is should eq go before compression?
