Very nice. Kef speakers were once the Hi Fi specialist reference speaker, famous for the use of a 12" x 8" woofer speaker, looked like and oval race track and was flat faced. Without hearing them I could not say but their track record would at least get me to hear some in demonstration.

Thought I'd look at components for a listening system. So far those are the speakers and this is the table that I've liked.

The company started out sometime in the 60's very near me in Maidstone Kent (about 20 miles away). The KEF brand stood for Kent Engineering Foundry IIRC which was the name of the previous occupiers of the industrial unit they acquired. They had an amazing reputation among audiophiles in the '70's and 80's, I think they had a renaissance in their fortunes fairly recently I remember seeing on the local news. I had a pair of stand mounted jobbies in the 70's and they were absolutely awesome, but expensive.

They are expensive. I've gone for many years without a listening system. I lost mine many years ago along with most everything else I owned. We've been talking about rebuilding a listening room so thought I'd start looking around. If I managed to decide on three of the components- speaker, amp and table- I'd be happy to get that far....something to talk about with my wife.

I was considering the ESS AMT Limited Edition- I'm very familiar with them or the ESS LD 10LR but it seems a hassle trying to find a seller so pfftt. KEF have it so far. Here is the amp and pre-amp I'm liking right now. Haven't priced them yet.
