Plugin Error Message When Opening New or Existing Project

Greetings. I'm new to Sonar X1 from Reaper (with plans after xmas to upgrade to X2) I've ported over all my VST plugins and linked them with the jbridge wrappper. Some are 32 bit, some are 64 bit. 1) I'm getting something along the lines of a "Error 735" window saying too many plugins. I hit ok, open project as so...But now my customized plugin layout selector shows all my sub folders but has dead links to the bottom half of the list when trying to add to effects bin. Do I have too many plugins??? Anyway around this error? I've searched the forum with no solution other than it's a problem that has never been remedied. 2) Is there a dedicated effects bin window I can use on a second monitor? Thank you.

do you have too many plug ins.....?   Hummmm.... how many are you trying to use in the project?

I'm guessing everything has a limit..... but I'm  not really sure what the VST limit might be.  All I can say is I've never hit it.

If you are using lots of tracks and lots of plugs in the FX bins.... that might be the problem..... try using busses and put the plugs there.  4 vocal tracks with 4 plugs each.... 16 plugs... use a buss and put the 4 plugs there, clear the tracks and you have 12 less plugs in the project

    just a suggestion.

I think you are asking 2 basic questions:

    1.  Do I have too many plugins?

    2.  Is there a dedicated effects bin window I can use on a 2nd monitor?

    To the above:

    Reply for question 1:

I found this on a Google search for Error 375 and Sonar, it is from Sonar 8.5.3 - I do not know what the current limits are, but at least then there were - here is that bit of content:

The current limits for how many plug-ins can fit in the menu are:
        735 audio plug-ins      255 synths      31 rewire devices

They also had this bit of content: "This normally happens when you have too many plugins installed on your system than can fit the menu. You need to move some plugins out of your default VST folder or alternatively use plugin layouts. Layouts were designed to overcome this problem. "

    Reply for question 2"

I am not sure what you are asking - each track has an effects bin - labelled FX in each track's channel strip in the console.  I use 2 display monitors and use the 2nd one for showing just the console.  To do this, I just used my mouse to click on the word Console at the bottom of the main display, and dragged the Console pane over to my 2nd monitor.  The 2 monitors are of different size, but all I did was double-click on the top of the console, once I got it over to the 2nd monitor, and it properly sized it for that screen size.

Does this help you at all?  Also, if I missed the boat on what your 2nd question was, please clarify for me and I will do my best to help you,

Thanks for the replies. For some reason my posting came up as one runon paragraph despite spacing it more clearly when I typed it. I have maybe 250 individual plugins...(the Waves7 bundle is close to that by itself) and then half are freebies. I'm figuring J Bridge produces a copy of them .64 into my vst folder. Also, some of them are both 32bit and 64 bit versions, so it duplicates those. This is well within the realm of a normal collection. Also of note is that custom layouts DO NOT overcome this problem. I have tried sorting into folders and whatnot, and it seems that the bottom of customized lists is where the dead links show up, perhaps after that threshold is met. Anyways, it's pretty odd that there would be a plugin limit in 2012. It's also odd that they would openly tell users they have too many plugins like it's some sort of negative implication? My second question was a little vague, I apologize. I'm trying to undock the effects bin so I can view them on a dedicated monitor without all the prochannel clutter. Like just a per-track spreadsheet type dedicated window or layout that is easy to navigate. If it doesnt exist it would be a good idea for a developer to make a script or add on to X1 that runs as a visual project effects bin. Thanks to Bob and Hacker for the quick responses.
