Mic orientation question

I saw a video where a studio had mounted the vocal mic upside down and then aimed it slightly downwards.  I'm thinking to try that but if I record with the mic upside down then how do I get the vocals flipped back to right-side-up?

    That's what the phase-invert button is for.

    Not sure if DAWs are able to achieve the feat of vertical flipping yet. 

    You may have to do what the rest of us mere mortals do and stand on your head whilst singing. 
    However, I do realise that this would be painful, so may I recommend the handstand instead : )

    An old TV commercial claimed that a brand of canned beans was superior because the beans were placed into the cans upside-down, thereby assuring that they would be right-side-up when dumped out. 

    Given that CDs are played with data facing downward, it would make sense to put the audio on in a downward-facing manner as well. This may be why so many vinyl-to-CD remasters don't sound right!

    I prefer to keep the mic upright and hang the singer upside down...
