X2 Only showing 32bit Kontat

Hey, I've just installed Sonar X2 and noticed all this time I must have been using the 32bit version of Kontakt, as it says it in brackets when I use it as a plug in. Do I need to reinstall Kontakt to get it to run in 64bit mode as I notice it's not in the Native Intruments folder in the (X86) program files? If I try and launch the reinstaller it says it's already on the computer so I'd have to delete it. But don't really want to lose all the libraries in it. Thanks for any help, Sonar X2, Windows 7

    Hi Snipa,

Some of the more basic thing to check first.

Look in Programs Files\VstPlugins. You should have a Kontakt 5 x64.dll file (or Kontakt 4 x64.dll if using Kontakt 4) in that directory if the 64 bit version of Kontakt is installed.

Check in options of the plug-in manager in Sonar to make sure Programs Files\VstPlugins is being scanned. Kontakt should show up as Kontakt 5 x64 in VST Instruments(VSTi).

    Try re-scanning your plug-ins in the plug-in manager .

By default, it place place elements of Komplete within C:\Program Files\Native Instruments, and within that, it creates 2 more sub-folders, 1 for 32-bit, and 1 for 64-bit, so the Komplete path for the plugins is:

    C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\VSTPlugins 32 bit
    C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\VSTPlugins 64 bit

I also kept 32-bit versions of programs and plugins they got rid of, as they keep my memory footprint down when using a live-performance vst-host wrapper called Forte.  The 2 I kept are Pro53 and Akoustic Piano.  They incorporated them up into Kontakt starting in Komplete 6.

Anyways, if you find the Kontakt5 plugins (there will be 3 of them, for different numbers of outputs), make sure to add that path to the Sonar VST Plugin Manager path list, and either scan, or restart and it should pick up the x64 guys you want.
