How far would you travel...

...just to look and play a guitar, without having the intention to buy it?

Not too far..... Without intentions, I probably would not go in the first place.

But to buy one...I guess that would depend on the guitar and the asking price....

Was it owned by Jimi or Joe Pass? 35 miles.

Is it a road worn Fender. I'll stay home.

Maybe its because I'm a lefty (not politically though) that Im thinking about taking a two hour train journey to Farnham UK next month from Leicester UK (Pronounced 'Lester' for my American friends  A roman spelling apparently)

I'm gonna look at a few Les Pauls, one of which is a lefty VOS 1959 lemon burst and a few lefty strats reissue 65 and 56.

...and generally fondle a few others as well. (No link to Jimi Savile there. Think all guitars are over 16 years of age. UK joke perhaps)

Can't afford to buy them at the mo, but I'm thinking once I see the guitars in the flesh so to speak, then I'll wonder what all the fuss is about then start to get a good nights sleep again.

p.s The tain tickets are about £60/$96 return. Up at 8am and back home for about 8pm.

Just be careful there, ol pal.  Going to look at guitars like that is like going to look at a litter of puppies with no real intention of buying one...you'll probably come home with one anyway:-)

Where you come from is gone...where you thought you were goin to weren't never there...and where you are ain't no good unless you can get away from it.

We used to take the train from Mildenhall/Lakenheath area to London almost every weekend just to go mingle around the shops and play.  Loved and miss it still.

I would imagine the distance would be proportional to the value of the guitar.
