Sonar X2 and TASCAM 1884
Hi, Just wondering if anyone has dared try Sonar X2 with a TASCAM 1884 yet? It seems to work flawlessly with Sonar X1 which makes me a little hesitant to switch but I really like what X2 has to offer. Tom Deering's Sonar/1884 guide has been more than helpful but I don't see any updates regarding X2 from him so if anyone else has any X2/1884 experiences I'd like to hear about it. Thanks, DF

hockeyjx, I appreciate the quick response, especially with news I wanted to hear. Sonar X1 worked better than any previous version with my 1884 so I really had to think about upgrading but you've just gone and pushed me over the edge. Thanks again, DF

Yes, I can confirm there seems to be no change from X2. I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64. I wonder next if the FW-1884 will work in Windows 8?

The thing is an oldie but goodie. A real solid investment(one of the best I've made in the studio). But sadly, it is not too long before a lot of us have to move on to a new interface :(

But sadly, it is not too long before a lot of us have to move on to a new interface :( I have already done that. I now use RME Fireface UFX. But.... my FW-1884 is still my control surface. I am a fader/pan/transport junkie so my FW-1884 solves that. And..... I use light pipe to get 8 more inputs from the FW-1884. As long as the faders/pan/transport work, I feel I still got my moneys worth from the FW-1884. One day it will probably have to be replaced (Win 9 or 10 and SONAR X7.6.8888???) but until then, I'm still happy.

I'm Thinking we wont see any driver support for windows 8. if I remember correctly tascam said Windows 7 was it. Myself I dont use the tascam as an audio device , I only use it as a control surface too.. I found this control surface which seems pretty cool , Looks like this is might be my next surface..They have an add on fader bank too.. http://www.icon-global.co...ntrollers_Qcon+Pro.htm
