How can you claim that it's amazing if you haven't tried the beta? Download it and let her rip, dude!  :)

I've been testing the beta this evening, mostly on PT10, but also gave it a good go with X2 and it's everything you'd expect from Cytomic.  Unfortunately, it's currently limited to just a single MS20 filter model, but there are many more to come in the final version.  I've been trying to dial in some nasty raunchy ear-bleeding sounds, but this filter sounds nice (incredible, actually) at all settings.  Even with the resonance, drive, and FM cranked, the filter gets very grungy, but in a pleasing way.  That's not a complaint, but I do hope that the other filters will allow for some more range just in case I ever need to completely obliterate something (it could happen).  In the meantime, this filter sounds great across the board and there's a lot of useable range in those knobs.

I hear that..  hey..   How's ur cpu usage?  good news?  bad news?

    Oh and btw,

We have a slight misunderstanding..  I have the beta installed..  I'm checking it out..  I know what the filter sounds like, and how it runs on my machine..   I'm still considering a wait till xmas..  just to let it get to 1.xx..   the beta says its at .9.4 or something..

    :-)

    cheers

Ahhh, OK - that makes sense then!  As for the CPU hit, it's not as bad as I was expecting after seeing some of the comments on KVR.  I've been using it on my laptop (i5) and I never came close to making it choke, even with two instances and almost every parameter engaged.  That said, it definitely has a bigger hit than most of the other filter plugins that I use regularly (e.g., FilterFreak, Etch, Volcano2, BiFilter2).  I think the real test will come for me when I try using it on my desktop, which has a less powerful Q6600.
