The Pugtones have a new Halloween tune . . .

it should be done next week.

But, for those who haven't heard our first Halloween tune - here is SCARED - recorded in 2009.

http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=8233424&q=hi&newref=1

I wrote this, played guitar - programmed the drums
Warren Willingham wrote the lyrics and did the vocals and bass
Bill Davies did some wierd sounds
Alan Smith did the collage in the middle
and Mike Vlakhis did some of the speaking vocals and some sound effects

We'll be back with a new one in a few days.

This sounds like it's right off a 2NU album.  Cool... and ambitious

    Cool. :)

I love stuff like this ... you can tell you put a lot of work in to this. Especially with all the backwards stuff and speed variations.

A few days after I joined the forum I posted a Halloween 'story', not so much a song. It was really creepy. When you played it forward it was the first part of the story, when you played it backwards it was the second part. It was a LOT of work to make it sound right.

I took it off line for some reason but I can't remember why? I may repost it now that you've got me in the Halloween spirit. :)

Can't wait to hear your new one!

    Hey, Mark,

I think I remember this one from quite a while ago, and it's still really cool and full of wild surprises!

It's like a virtual funhouse ride with twists and turns and lots of interesting effects.  Definitely a great way to kick off some Halloween spirit.

Thanks for reposting it, can't wait to hear the new one!

    Very trippy.

There's a plug free from SSL called "X-orcism." You may find it useful for this.

    Well done!

Didn't catch this the first time either. Would be great background for any kind of horror presentation or show.If your goal was a good halloween tune you certainly reached it!

HaHa!   I didn't catch this originally either, so it was a real experience to hear!   Wonderfully done, mix-wise and great panning and FX!    Can't imagine what you're going to do to top this one?!    Great job!!

Thanks all. When I started writing this my goal was to do something that made you feel kind of strange when you were done listening to it.

    Thanks again - take care.

It's funny, but when Mark senT the music for this one I drew a blank for lyrics.  I listened to it a couple times and the thought of talking in creepy sounds seemed good.  I used the Cakewalk digital delay in SHS7 and had a bunch of fun.  The lyrics incorporate "true stories and legends" from my youth.  The "gates to hell" part was Mike.  He set the table for me.  Lots of fun.

THANKS TO ALL FOR LISTENING FOR THE 3RD YEAR IN A ROW.

I've never really got the whole US fascination with Halloween as in the UK it's pretty much just an excuse for kids to get some sweets, but this is kinda cool. I do remember hearing it before and being surprised by it. It's always good to step out of the comfort zone I occasionaly .
