Audio Interface static?

I just installed Sonar X2 studio, I am using a Roland quad capture. When I direct my guitar into the roland, the sound is fine, I then record it. When I play it back there is some static on the recording that i didnt hear when I recorded. Kind of like a tremlo effect, but I have no effects on. any ideas as to what this could be. It is maddening!!

Thanks in advance!

I dont believe it is in ASIO mode. I will try that. I have a 64bit windows 7 machine 8 gig of ram. I am guessing I should try it in ASIO mode?

    Thanks for the help!
