Anyone know of where you can hear what this can do - it's a great deal of money and looking at what it is (delay modulation etc) it would appear you can do this sort of thing with other plugs - or does it still do something completely unique??
I always wanted to get a hardware version back in the day (used one on a few occasions) but that was always outside my pocket - always thought the hardware versions were unique - I suppose what my question is, is the Eventide Stuff REALLY still totally unique now that they have been rendered to software??
    Love anyones thoughts

I gave it a listen on the Eventide website.  Didn't know that they did avionic equipment as well as audio stuff. (??) The links they provide take you to a Youtube page.  Watched the little show.  A few seconds in I was thinking the same thing you mentioned in your post "uh, that sounds like a chorus set wide followed by a delay, followed by a simple filter...."  I didn't give it an exhaustive listen but I believe that with a little trial and error with all the plug ins I've got I could get pretty close to the sounds I heard.  I was feeling relieved when the temptation to buy quickly faded from my mind.....

I used the hardware kit back in around '90 when they came out.  It was great for about a week because it was so new and had lots of options but tbh not sure I'd invest now. Delay-pitch-chorus-in-a-box really.
