Confused because I think that I am seeing multiple answers here. I have the version that came with Producer X2. Is this different and newer or the same?

SONAR came with version 1 (circa 2003-ish). It's awesome. But Z3TA+ 2 has grown up quite a bit from that version. It came out last summer. Much easier to use with tons of great new features, improved audio quality and amazing presets. You should get it ;)

Since you are just getting your feet wet in MIDI, you probably have enough in SONAR to keep you busy until z3ta+2 is included in a future release of SONAR. If you have a few bucks to spare, buy it. Otherwise you might be better off buying Simon Cann's book "Cakewalk Synthesizers" http://noisesculpture.com/cakewalk-synthesizers and learn the synths that are already included in SONAR.

Thank you for that. I hate to miss a deal but I did wonder if it was another of those things I'd never get around to. I just now bought a MIDI keyboard so have a ways to go.

"So is this for trance and other synthetic music mostly? Never used it but who knows? I've been almost exclusively audio " use z3ta 2 for any electronic music, in fact use it in any production you are working on !!!

I usually record guitar driven music but have been wanting to contemporize my sound. Z3TA has proven itself to be a huge asset as well as loops. myconsumerclub got it it's freaking awesome and soooo many free presets at patch arena. Can someone please post the US/Rest Of The World link for this? I keep getting the $29-00 option here in South Africa, and no mention of it on the Store page.
