Solved- X2 and Stylus RMX problem- help please

I have all the tracks and they assigned correctly (A-H) when I inserted Stylus.
All tracks can be heard when HOST SYNC is acknowledged and track meters
indicate processing.
 
The problem is when the midi information is dragged to a track (from directory drag and drop)
the midi information shows on the track but when the project is played  with HOST SYNC off so
Stylus will be triggered by the midi info from the track info- it doesn't. No indication that midi information is being read by Stylus.
 
When I insert a midi track and drag and drop from Stylus it works. Stylus executes the part when
the project is played and without Stylus HOST SYNC on.
 
Something is going wrong during the insertion of Stylus seems to be where the problem is
but obviously, I don't know.
Inset Options I'm using;
 
Midi Source - also tried insertion with this not checked- no go with or without
Synth track folder
All Synth Audio Outs Stereo
And Display Atomation On: set to First Synth Audio Track (changing to MIDI Source Track didn't help)
 
 
Exhausted my troubleshooting ability- and that's not much with midi.
