Importing mutiple tracks at once - "SOLVED"...sort of: see lasst post

I have just upgraded to X2, and am having trouble importing my Sibelius wave tracks. With X1 I could for example high light a number of exported Sib. tracks - lets say 10, and drag them all at once in to a new Sonar project. They would automatically load sequentially into Sonar, and I was ready to now. Now in X2, when I drag them into Sonar - with or without the correct number of tracks selected in Sonar (a step not necessary before). all the tracks are loaded into track one (giving me a composite of all tracks). There must be a Preferences choice somewhere, but cna't find it. Thanks for any help.

I haven't tried that yet, but I wouldn't like it if that were the new default.

are they maybe going all into different track lanes?  even if that's the case, I still wouldn't like that if there's not a way to drag them into new tracks like X1 and before did.

I'm not saying this will work but try dragging them into an empty project. This may not be a useful way to do this for you though.

    That has worked for me.

ikr. I discovered this over the weekend to my surprise. It used to be, if I had 8 tracks in the project, I could put my now time where I wanted and the focus on the top track and import 8 wavs and one wave would go into each track. Now all 8 waves go in lanes of track 1.

To fix, I turned off zoom so I could keep the track with 8 layers expanded and shift dragged the clips from the lanes to the other tracks (shift so they wouldn't move in time forwards or backwards).

thanks gswitz - I'll certainly try this when I get home!

I hope this isn't considered an upgrade..very convoluted. How about the old way...just drag the tracks into the project!

insert a new track for each clip, put your cursor at 0, select the tracks and rt click, then select the 'insert at NOW time'.

John's idea worked! Drag into empty project. I couldn't get the option that Maarkr talks about (insert at Now Time) to come up - I rt-clicked every where. Plus that's extra steps. I'm not sure we still have it as good as it was, though...for instance if you needed to drag tracks into a project that was not "Empty".

This is what Sonar support just told me: Hello David, We are aware of this issue. A workaround you can do is create a blank template with no tracks, then when importing into the blank template the files will go to separate tracks.
