I think it sounds great.  Very nice mix especially the separations with the different guitars.  Just the right amount of effects on the guitar parts.  Some parts here and there are slightly rushed - no big deal though. Maybe you could nudge some of the clips.  Great song and production!

Another crack at this.  I am trying to get the low end right.  Am I closer?

Hi Sunny-

As we chatted last weekend, I think this song is great, and I wish I could say that I had written it! I listened to it quite a bit over the week and this morning. Do you suppose that you could label the versions of the mix on SoundCloud? After clicking all of the links in the forum, I'm starting to lose which one is which.

One of the mixes sounds more full and warm than some of the others. One also has the noticeable use of a rim hit on the snare that I think adds some nice change. The smoothness and sheen that you were asking about last week to me has a bit to do with the actual tone of the guitars and drum samples. The sixteenth notes on the snare during the outro (~2:49) are a bit mechanical sounding. Some of the "fuzz"tones on the guitar are also just a bit harsh (referring to the harshness question from last week).

Overall, the balance of levels between sources is great. The vocal track is well placed and present (really shines). I too really like the selection of effects that you have used on the guitars. I can't decide about the effects that you use on snare here and there, but the authoring of the drum track is solid for the song. I think this for me is due to having listened to it so much this week. One of the versions really sounds like the bass and drums are Beatle-esque tone wise. If that was by design, then I would prefer no effects on the snare. The reference you shared with me has a more modern vibe than the Beatles, and in that context, I think it works.

I truly hope that you don't think that I'm being too critical. I think that this song is awesome and one of the better ones I've heard on this forum over the years! Keep up the great work!
